Hello Sir or Madam,

               

                The young gentleman in front of you is part of the Winona Winhawk Boys Swimming and Diving team. This holiday season on December 26th, 27th and 28th, we are taking a three day training trip to the Twin Cities to participate in practices and a competition with the White Bear Lake Swimming and Diving team. To help offset the costs to the swimmers and divers, we are orchestrating a fundraiser for the team. The guys are not simply asking for money, they are asking for contributions to the team and will swim off the amount donated. The fundraiser will consist of the swimmers participating in 100 x 100 yard swims on New Year’s Eve, 10,000 yards total, which equates to about 5.75 miles.

All donations can be in the form of payment per swim. For example, if you wish to donate $0.10 per swim completed, the swimmer will have earned $10 after all 100 swims are completed. With this format, it encourages the swimmers to complete all swims to earn your donation.

As a team, we are asking for donations to be turned into the high school no later than January 6th, 2017, so that we may use the amount towards paying off the expenses incurred for the trip.  Any and all checks can be made payable to “Winona Winhawk Boys Swimming and Diving Team” care of Winona Senior High School.
